BBP participates in the Interns in Industry program.

Coordinator- Bayswater Business Precinct - Maroondah, Knox and Yarra Ranges Council

Meet Wenlong Chi, BBP’s newest team member.

Bayswater Business Precinct (BBP) is participating in Deakin University’s Interns in Industry program, which  provides hands-on experience for students studying business and marketing related degrees. The program has been in operation  for a number of years and was developed in collaboration with  Maroondah, Knox and Whitehorse councils to partner university students with businesses across the municipalities.

BBP is supporting the program this year and welcomes Wenlong Chi, a fourth-year student studying Bachelor of Business  majoring in Retail and Supply Chain Management and minoring in Marketing.

Wenlong’ s perspectives of the internship are heartening. He says “there are a lot of talented and supportive team members who motivate me to learn more about businesses and become a better marketer. The time is flexible, and the role enables me to learn more about government practices as well as experiencing other BBP industries”.

A key part of Wenlong’ s new role is  assisting  the BBP team to help local businesses connect with information,  resources and  the right people. This  fits nicely with his specialisation in supply chains, distribution,  production and marketing.

During the internship Wenlong will also be creating content for BBPConnect and assisting with communication plans and marketing strategies. Wenlong’ s goals are to focus on delivering services that meet the needs of the BBP Businesses at the same time balancing university study.

Here at BBP we know staffing is tough for businesses right now. Reach out to us and we can point you in the right direction to you get you the services and support you need.
