What exactly is a Job Advocate and how can they help?
The Job Advocate is basically someone who is a referral service for anyone to get information on employment, education and support services. There are a lot of services out there and it is a bit of a maze which can be difficult to navigate. Our job is to listen to your situation and then point you in the right direction.
Initially the program was designed to help people who had been affected by CO-VID and had lost their jobs and needed support. However, currently the situation has reversed with employers struggling to find people to fill roles. As job advocates are out in the community meeting people we could be helpful in finding employees to fill these vacancies.
