For many small to medium sized businesses, it is difficult to find the time and resources to implement digital solutions and keep on top of the day-to-day pressures of running a business.
The SummerTech LIVE program helps Victorian businesses to upskill their digital capabilities and solve technology-related problems by facilitating studentships with senior level Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tertiary students and recent graduates.
For the students, it is an opportunity to gain work-ready skills and kick start their careers. The program offers a $5,000 studentship for 10 to 12 weeks over the summer break.
There is no cost to businesses. SMEs will need to provide in-kind support including a mentor/contact person for the students and a workstation and all the necessary tools for the students to do their job.
Funding of up to $1,000 per project will be provided to participating tertiary institutions to support the educational mentors working with the students.
